Tym razem w archiwach Reprise, Imperial, Melody i Motown Records udalo sie skompletowaé nagrania Dorseya Burnet-te'a z lat 1962-1965. Pochodzacy z Memphis Dorsey uwazany jest za jednego z glównych przedstawicieli okresu pre-rockabilly. Jako welny, rybakiem oraz pracownikiem statków plywajacych po Mississippi, lecz dzieki ojcu siegnal po gitare. Wraz z bratem oraz przyjacielem Paulem Burlisonem na poczatku lat piecdziesigtych utworzyli grupe The Rhythm Rangers. Po przeprowadzce do Nowego Jor-ku i podpisaniu kontraktu plytowego z Coral Records zmienili nazwe na The Rock and Roll Trio. Od tego momentu znalezli sie w centrum muzycznego wiru obok Gena Vincenta. Ten czas uplywa pod znakiem nieprzerwanych tras koncertowych, sesji radiowych i telewizyjnych, a prowadzi równiez przez legendarne studio Sun. Intensywny czas wewnetrze konflikty doprowadzaly kilkakrotnie do rozpadu i reaktywacji tria. W koricówce lat pieédziesiatych Dorsey przeprowadzil sie do Kalifornii, gdzie poczatkowo zyt jako bezro-botny, by skonczyé jako elektryk. Równolegle z bratem pisali kolejne utwory, niestety dla innych wykonawców m.in. Ricky'ego Nelsona.

Seit Jahren dringt Bear Family Records kontinuierlich in die obersten Regale vieler Plattenfirmen vor. Hier finden sich die ältesten und noch unentdeckten Aufnahmen.
Diesmal wurden die Archive von Reprise, Imperial, Melody und Motown Records nach Aufnahmen von Dorsey Burnett aus den Jahren 1962 bis 1965 durchsucht. Der in Memphis geborene Dorsey gilt als einer der Hauptvertreter der Vor-Rockabilly-Ära. Er arbeitete als Wollkämmer, Fischer und Stauer auf dem Mississippi, aber dank seines Vaters lernte er das Gitarrenspiel. Anfang der 1950er Jahre gründete er mit seinem Bruder und Freund Paul Burlison die Band The Rhythm Rangers. Nach ihrem Umzug nach New York und dem Abschluss eines Plattenvertrags mit Coral Records änderten sie ihren Namen in The Rock and Roll Trio. Von da an befanden sie sich neben Gene Vincent im Zentrum des Musik-Wirbelsturms. Diese Zeit war geprägt von ständigen Tourneen, Radio- und Fernsehauftritten und sogar einer legendären Session im Sun Studio. Es war eine intensive Zeit, und Konflikte führten dazu, dass sich die Band mehrmals auflöste und neu formierte. Mitte der 1950er Jahre zog Dorsey nach Kalifornien, wo er sich zunächst als arbeitsloser Elektriker durchschlug. Zusammen mit seinem Bruder schrieb er weitere Songs, die leider von anderen Künstlern wie Ricky Nelson verwendet wurden.
Die Aufnahmen auf den beiden CDs zeigen seine Solokarriere, die sich durch eine große Bandbreite an Stilen auszeichnet und Dorseys Suche nach dem großen Hit, der damals leider ausblieb, widerspiegelt. Kenner der Ära und ihre Fans werden mit diesem vollständigen Set von Dorsey-Bunette-Aufnahmen sicherlich zufrieden sein.

For years, Bear Family Records has been continuously penetrating the top shelves of many record companies. This is where the oldest and still undiscovered recordings can be found.
This time, the archives of Reprise, Imperial, Melody, and Motown Records have been searched to find recordings by Dorsey Burnett from 1962 to 1965. The Memphis-born Dorsey is considered one of the main representatives of the pre-rockabilly era. He worked as a wool worker, fisherman and stevedore on the Mississippi, but thanks to his father, he picked up the guitar. He formed the band The Rhythm Rangers with his brother and his friend Paul Burlison in the early 1950s. After moving to New York and signing a record deal with Coral Records, they changed their name to The Rock and Roll Trio. From then on, they found themselves in the center of the music whirlwind alongside Gene Vincent. This period was characterized by constant touring, radio and television sessions, and also took them to the legendary Sun Studio. The intense period of time was characterized by conflicts that led to the breakup and reactivation of the trio several times. In the mid-fifties, Dorsey moved to California, where he initially lived as an unemployed man and ended up as an electrician. Together with his brother, he wrote more songs, unfortunately for other artists such as Ricky Nelson.
The recordings on two CDs show his solo career. These seven CDs present Dorsey's search, which unfortunately ended without a big hit, which was a must in those days. Adepts of the era and its fans will certainly be satisfied with this complete set of recordings by Dorsey Bunette.

Depuis des années, Bear Family Records ne cesse de s'introduire dans les rayons supérieurs de nombreuses maisons de disques. C'est là que se trouvent les enregistrements les plus anciens et encore inconnus.
Cette fois, ce sont les archives de Reprise, Imperial, Melody et Motown qui ont été fouillées à la recherche d'enregistrements de Dorsey Burnett de 1962 à 1965. Né à Memphis, Dorsey est considéré comme l'un des principaux représentants de l'ère pré-rockabilly. Il a travaillé comme peigneur de laine, pêcheur et débardeur sur le Mississippi, mais grâce à son père, il a appris à jouer de la guitare. Il a formé le groupe The Rhythm Rangers avec son frère et ami Paul Burlison au début des années 1950. Après avoir déménagé à New York et signé un contrat d'enregistrement avec Coral Records, ils changent de nom pour devenir The Rock and Roll Trio. Dès lors, ils se retrouvent au centre de la scène musicale aux côtés de Gene Vincent. Cette période est marquée par des tournées incessantes, des sessions radio et TV, et les conduit également au légendaire Sun Studio. Cette période intense a été marquée par des conflits, qui ont conduit à la dissolution et à la réactivation du trio à plusieurs reprises. Au milieu des années 50, Dorsey s'installe en Californie, où il vit d'abord sans emploi et finit par devenir électricien. Avec son frère, il écrit d'autres chansons, malheureusement pour d'autres artistes comme Ricky Nelson.
Les enregistrements sur deux CD montrent sa carrière solo. Ces sept CD présentent la quête de Dorsey, qui s'est malheureusement terminée sans grand succès, ce qui était une nécessité à l'époque. Les connaisseurs de l'époque et ses fans seront certainement satisfaits de cet ensemble complet d'enregistrements de Dorsey Bunette.
