In Las Vegas wird Freddie Bell als Legende verehrt – und das, obwohl er in den Staaten nie einen Hit landen konnte. In England war das eine andere Geschichte. Dort war Giddy Up A Ding Dong 1956 ein großer Hit.

Freddie Bell erinnerte mit seinen Bigband-Aufnahmen und seinem Rock ‚n‘ Roll voller Energie ein wenig an Bill Haley.
1955 nahm er jene Version von Hound Dog auf, die Elvis dann kopierte. Diese Originalfassung und weitere Mercury-Aufnahmen von Freddie Bell aus der Zeit von 1956/57, darunter Hucklebuck, eine neue 1956er Version von Hound Dog, Voo Doo und Rock The Polonaise sind auf diesem CD Album zu finden.
