This is the Viv Records Story. The label was started by Lee Hazlewood in 1955. Few Viv records were hits, but they document an often neglected and under-rated scene. Among the classics here are Donnie Owens' Need You (with Duane Eddy), Loy Clingman's Rockin' Down Mexico Way, Jimmy Spellman's Give Me Some Of Yours, The Tads' Bumble Bee, Al Casey's Round And Round, and Lee Hazlewood's Five More Miles To Folsom. The surprises include Jessi Colter (Mirriam Johnson)'s I Ask Of You. The hottest sounds came from the edge of the desert!
